After months of tough dedicated training, last weekend several gymnasts from Sapphire School of Gymnastics competed at the out of age East of England finals. They had previously qualified from the Hertfordshire county championships and so the girls knew that this would be a huge test of their abilities to compete against top clubs from across the region.

Maddison Dixon in Grade 6 put out a silver medal performance to make her and the club very proud. In grade 5 Rose Johnson built upon her Hertfordshire county experience to take the top spot, a fabulous achievement for her and coach Ruth!  Alyssa Krauz was also in Grade 5 and she came in 4th for the age 9 gymnasts. Moving on to the fiercely competitive grade 4, Kira Caple come in a close 2nd position overall with Iona Waddle not far behind in a respectable 4th place. Olivia Kilby took the bronze medal for the age 11 to 12 category. Nadia Nowakowska took the silver medal in grade 3, with elegant routines and dynamic vaults. Finally in Grade 2, Eve Andrews took 4th with Kenzie Brown in 7th.

The girls now hope to upgrade their skills over the next few months before the competition season resumes in September.
